Although the first sausage came from Egypt and China in 5000 B.C. sausage is made all over the world today. For 56 years Conecuh Sausage Co. has been making their delicious smoked sausage and ham. They started out small but have grown into a large company over the past forty years. I talked with Ronnie Elliot a representative for Conecuh Sausage about the company and their product.
The company headquarters is located in Evergreen a small southern town in Conecuh County Alabama. All packaging and shipping are done out of this location in Conecuh County. They are not part of a larger corporation but are growing every year larger and larger shipping sausage all over the southeast. The sausage is also made right their in Conecuh County. Although most of the product is shipped by the company some stores such as Bruno’s or Winn Dixie actually pick the product up at the factory. All of these workers at the factory, the truck drivers, and the store owners help to get this sausage in my hand.
Conecuh Sausage Co founded in 1947, is widely known for their smoked sausage. When it comes to making sausage they have it down to an art. there is a lot of preparation that goes into producing their delicious smoked sausage. They choose only the best meats, prepare them with their patent blend of seasoning and smoke them over a pure hickory fire to get that true southern flavor. Although their menu hasn’t changed much over the last forty years, neither has their quality. If anyone has never tried their sausage before I recommend that you look for it on your next trip to the store.
